Deconstructing the Russell Tribunal on Palestine
Judge Richard Goldstone, in The New York Times (October 31, 2011): "It is not a “tribunal.” The “evidence” is going to be one-sided and the members of the “jury” are critics whose harsh views of Israel are well known."

kangaroos The Russell Tribunal on Palestine (RToP) will hold an extraordinary session in Brussels on September 24-25, 2014.

The stated aim of the extraordinary session is to consider
  • “Israel’s Crimes (including War Crimes, Crimes against Humanity and the Crime of Genocide) during the still ongoing “Operation Protective Edge” as well as third States complicity.””

The RToP has no official judicial capacity and styles itself as an “International people’s tribunal” – consisting of “a jury” and hearing “expert witnesses.” But the trial framework is merely a facade. The tendentious conclusions and Israel's guilt are predetermined.

Crimes committed by Hamas or other terrorist groups will not be discussed at the RToP. The RToP is not interested in human rights or international law, only in the condemnation of Israel.
